Akin Gump’s Lisa Beckerman Appointed To Federal Bankruptcy Judgeship
Akin Gump is pleased to announce that financial restructuring partner Lisa G. Beckerman has been appointed a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York. The appointment was made by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, and she will be sworn in on February 26, 2021.
Ms. Beckerman has more than 30 years’ experience in corporate restructurings, with a particular focus on creditors’ rights. She first joined Akin Gump in 1999 and works on both chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, advising clients across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, airlines, media, energy and real estate.
